Retirement Second Opinion exists for one simple reason: retirement decisions are too important to be made in confusion, fear, or haste. For many people, retirement arrives alongside major life changes—leaving a career, shifts in income, health concerns, family transitions, or the loss of familiar structure. At the same time, the financial system often asks people to move quickly, trust unfamiliar language, and make permanent decisions under pressure. This work exists to slow that moment down.
At Retirement Second Opinion, the focus is education, clarity, and advocacy—not selling, managing, or persuading.
The role here is to:
By sitting on the client’s side of the table, the goal is not to tell you what to do—but to help you understand enough to decide from a place of calm confidence.
Retirement Second Opinion was founded by Anna Braun, whose background spans finance, education, and advocacy.
With over 6 years of professional experience inside the financial industry, Anna saw firsthand how often people are asked to make life-altering decisions without fully understanding the implications—or without feeling safe enough to ask questions.
Over time, it became clear that what many retirees needed most was not another recommendation, but an independent space to slow down, translate information, and regain their footing.
Today, her work focuses on helping retirees navigate decisions with greater clarity, steadiness, and self-trust—free from sales pressure or product incentives.

Many retirees assume that feeling anxious, frozen, or unsure about financial decisions means they are unprepared or “bad with money.”
In reality, high-stakes financial decisions naturally activate stress responses—especially when information is complex, time-sensitive, or tied to long-term security.
Confusion is not a personal failure.
Hesitation is not a lack of intelligence.
Wanting clarity before committing is reasonable.
Retiree Advocate was created to normalize these experiences and provide a place where questions are welcomed, time is respected, and understanding comes first.

Retirement Second Opinion is not:
This work complements—not replaces—your existing support system.
At the core of this work is a simple belief:
People deserve time, clear explanations, and honest information before making decisions that affect the rest of their lives.
When decisions are made from understanding rather than urgency, people are more likely to feel grounded, confident, and at peace with their choices—whatever those choices may be.
If you’ve landed here because something doesn’t feel settled, because you want to understand more before deciding, or because you simply want space to think clearly—you’re in the right place.
You don’t have to rush.
You don’t have to already know the answers.
You’re allowed to take a second look.
